Mammoth Talk

On Wednesday 29th of June, we were joined by 90 students and parents for a fascinating talk by Professor Adrian Lister from the Natural History Museum.

Professor Lister took us on a journey from the evolution and extinction of the mammoth, to the parallel threats faced by the elephant today. The audience, who ranged in age from 7-75, were intrigued to learn about the latest fossil evidence about mammoths and how they were hunted by humans. We would like to thank Professor Lister for a fantastic talk and the audience for asking insightful questions.

The talk gave a good insight and comparison into the similarities and differences between modern day Indian elephants and ancient woolly mammoths.David and Finn, Y8 students
