One of our aims this year has been to maintain APS as a stable haven of relative calm in an increasingly excitable world.
Weldome back to this first newsletter of the 2020/2021 academic year.
As Andy Williams croons on his 60’s classic, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year”, Christmas offers the opportunity for us to spend quality time with family and friends.
We are a school that prides itself on excellence across all departments and subject areas. Our recent examinations are one measure of this. Two recent awards also highlight this strength.
It has once again been a summer of school improvements and school successes, both giving us cause to celebrate. Let us start with our wonderful students - and didn't they do well?

How does one judge a school? Surely not by its Year 7 students, as schools will not have had time to work their magic...

One of the foundations of the APS 'success for all' ethos is the recognition that a rounded education involves considerably more than enhancing the knowledge and the skills which form the heard of the school curriculum. This drives the efforts we make to advance key values and to enrich students' experiences, both inside and beyond the classroom.
Little Shop Of Horrors was a Major Success
Auditions for ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ started in September involving over 100 excited students.
