Well done, we have got through a difficult term. The school has remained open every day, despite the many challenges we have faced. Most importantly, it has been a place of happiness, where children can be together and where learning continues. It’s not the APS we are used to, but it’s the best APS we can be at the moment.
As we all reflect on 2020, we could wallow in self-pity and complain but where does this get anyone? The philosopher Karl Popper is often attributed with the phrase “Optimism is our moral duty.” I would possibly argue that it originated with Immanuel Kant but I can’t find fault with the sentiment..
We, the adults, must maintain a positive approach. We aren’t through this period yet and the next few months will test us further, but we will get through it. This time will pass.
Thank you to all our families for supporting the school. Thank you for the patience and understanding you have demonstrated. Have a restful Christmas and my heartfelt wishes for a prosperous 2021. My gift to you - not the writings of Popper or Kant but the wise words of Eric Idle. Sing along……….
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the light side of life……..etc. etc.
A Merry Christmas to one and all!
