Newsletter May 2016

Dear Parents, Carers and Students

Last week we celebrated the graduation of our Year 11s. The guest speaker, Rita Chakrabarti was clear about the benefits of living in “London, The World City,  where the son of a bus driver can become Mayor”.

Our students have many opportunities right on their doorstep and the Year 11 team, under the fantastic leadership of Ms Hutchinson, have ensured that all 225 of the students in their care have developed many of the skills needed to take up these opportunities and take on life’s challenges.  They are a wonderful year group and we expect great things of them in the summer exams. However we are not saying goodbye as the vast majority of students will be back with us in September and why wouldn’t they be – our sixth form results are the best in the area.

Well done to all students who received recognition for their contributions to the school community. A full report on the graduation and all prize winners can be read inside but congratulations to the following students who received our Roll of Honour awards:

  • Raphaella Ridley – Head Teacher Award
  • Jeremy Atkinson –Enquiring Mind Award
  • Ben Robinson – Literature Award
  • Prayer Simeon – Achievement Award
  • George Burgess – Outstanding Citizen Award
  • Kuba Legowick  - Performing Arts Award
  • Ava Mitchell – Science & Maths Award
