Middlesex U18s Football Champions

Our Sixth Form Boys’ football team contested the Middlesex U18 XI Cup final vs St Thomas More at Rectory Park in West London. The final turned out to be a local derby however the Alexandra Park team reached the final, after convincing wins against many London sides including Enfield Grammar, Latymer & William Perkin School.

It was a competitive game straight from the opening whistle, with both sides having several early chances. Alexandra Park took the lead in the 20th minute with a well-slotted goal from Hadi after an excellent pass from Tobenna. We doubled the lead 2 minutes later when the ball broke kindly to Ben, who calmly placed the ball into the bottom corner. Chasing a 2-goal deficit, St Thomas More started the 2nd half very brightly and created some good early chances. However, Alexandra Park scored their 3rd goal in the 65th minute when Joe scored an excellent overhead kick that went in off the post. St Thomas More pushed forward in search of a goal and scored from a rebounded penalty. Archie made a great save from the spot-kick but the striker tapped in the rebound. With 15 minutes left, there was some outstanding defending from Luca, Dilan & Archie.

Overall, it was a great team effort and a fitting end to this cup run. Everyone performed brilliantly.
